Dear all, I am a member of Jeju Birdwatching Group(JBG). JBG is a birdwatching group based in Jeju island in South Korea. We have been actively engaged in researching, monitoring the birds in Jeju and sharing the information with other groups interested for years. We will hold Annual Workshop to report our activities and share the information on 24th February, 2007. We invite you to this workshop. If you are members of birdwatching group, we especially welcome you to come and give a presentation about the activities of your group. If you come, we will provide accommodation and transportation in Jeju island. Please pay for the air ticket to and from Jeju and Japan. Before and after the workshop, we will go around Jeju island, watching birds. As you may already know, our members are the best birdwatchers in Jeju. We know exactly where we can see specific species of birds. Our leader, Ms. Kim and Mr. Kang, who recently published a birding book, actually spend more than 300 days per year watching birds in Jeju. This workshop will be a good chance for you to make friends with us. After this workshop, we can share information about the movement of migration birds. Here in Jeju, you can see Japanese whiteeye very easily. Japanese bush warblers are common, too. Although February is too early, some of them will begin calling for mates. More than 20 Black Faced Spoonbills spend every winter in Jeju. And Cinereous Vultures and Great Spotted Eagles are seen here, too. Especially, Jeju is almost the only region where the mandarine ducks spend the winter in large groups. All of these birds you can see around the workshop, if you are not badly unlucky.
